Saint Helier is one of the twelve parishes of
Jersey and has a population of around 28,000 and is the capital
of Jersey. One of the must visit places in St Helier is the Central
Market which is in Beresford Street which features Victorian
architecture and an ornamental fountain in the centre which has
been recently restored. The market is open daily (except on Sundays)
from 7.30am till 5.30pm with early close on Thursdays at 2pm.

Another great place to visit is Mont Orgueil
Castle which for over 600 years has protected the Island against
a French invation. It is located overlooking the harbour of Gorey
in the parish of St. Martin.
